The Reformation was a radical historical movement that restored the liberty of conscience after over a thousand years of religious monopoly by the Roman Catholic Church. This liberty meant the freedom to believe or not believe Catholic dogma, to belong or not belong to the church, and to live in harmony with the Bible rather than human traditions.
