Exodus 6:6-7

Say therefore to the Israelites, “I am the Lord, and I will free you from the burdens of the Egyptians and deliver you from slavery to them. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my people, and I will be your God. You shall know that I am the Lord your God, who has freed you from the burdens of the Egyptians.”

Exodus 19:3-6

Marriage is perhaps the single biggest blessing you can have in this world.

God knows what it is to weep over a broken marriage; he knows what it is to yearn for a wayward spouse, to try and win her and woo her back but in the end, she would not come back to him.

God is looking for Covenant faithful monotheism in this marriage covenant with his people.

Jesus knows what it’s like to go through the trauma of divorce. But Jesus didn’t just come to make one last appeal to his people, Jesus came because he wanted a bride for eternity.

Tonight, God is offering the chance to enter into a betrothal relationship with him, that you may enter the bride of Christ and look forward to the consummation in Heaven above when we meet our Heavenly groom.

God’s mercy far outweighs his judgment. It’s a beautiful picture of God that God desires to be merciful to his people, and this is what God wants for his bride tonight.
