As I study these things, it just occurs to me that when we understand history and we understand prophecy, we put those things together and it’s not hard to see how what we know from Spirit of Prophecy and our study of Revelation 12 and 13, how that’s going to happen in the final days.

And so, the Spanish union of church and state grew in its sense of Messianic fervor, identifying apocalyptic themes in Daniel and Revelation that fed the national need for Spain to be purified of heretics, infidels, and Jews before Jesus arrived.

Wherever you link church with state together, you need to be very careful. Somebody’s going to suffer.

The papacy declares it has the right to authoritatively deal with all social and economic matters in every nation. They’re the ones who determine what is the common good, and they say that all of your rights are subservient to what they determine to say is the common good.

The Reformation gave us Protestantism. Protestantism in turn gave us our human and civil rights and capitalism. And without Protestantism through religious liberty from the Roman Catholic dictatorship, we would not have our Bill of Rights in America today.

Choose hope and faith every morning. The blessed hope is that Jesus is coming again. He’s coming for his own.
