Based on Isaiah 59:14-15
Key Scripture: “Justice is turned back and righteousness stands at a distance; for truth stumbles in the public square, and uprightness cannot enter. Truth is lacking, and whoever turns from evil is despoiled. The Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.” — Isaiah 59:14-15
Opening Reflection: Imagine waking up one morning to find that everything you believed to be true is being questioned. The newspaper headlines, the conversations at work, even the messages on social media seem to suggest a new ‘truth’ that contradicts what you have always known. It feels like the world is upside down. How do you react when everything you stand for is under scrutiny? This is the reality of living in a world where cancel culture is prevalent, where truth is often the first casualty.
Today’s Truth: Dr. Conrad Vine reminds us that cancel culture is a tool used by the powerful to silence those who threaten their status. It is not about upholding truth but about maintaining control. In such times, truth is discarded, and reputations are destroyed. Yet, as Christians, we are called to stand firm in truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Our challenge is to speak truth in love, knowing that ultimately, truth will prevail.
