So [clears throat] all right so uh this afternoon um I was talking the t talk is entitled true gold and uh I hope you all had a good lunch. Yes. >> Yes. I had a wonderful lunch. I'm not sure if I remember what it was but it was it was very good.
It all disappears down so fast. Um but it was wonderful lunch and thank you to those who prepared it. And uh so uh we have uh one more talk now and then we have a Q&A session together. Um so that's our journey this afternoon. And uh so far we've covered two topics.
Uh today we've covered the biblical right to self-defense. And then we spoke about a culture of despair and decadence and deliverance in Christ. And I want to talk this afternoon about true gold and some of the things that are happening these days. So I'm going to be preparing a series of sermons on um digital IDs and stuff like that. um coming out probably in November up in Maine.
Um these things always seem to happen in Maine in my life and so I'll be preaching a series of sermons up there uh because we're watching the the developments of the infrastructure for the mark of the beast is being built right in front of our eyes and it's it's happening very fast. It's happening all around the world and we need to take this very very seriously because uh there will there will come a time in the not too distant future uh when those who disagree with the dominant narrative will just be shut off and become a digital non-person and lose access to everything in this life. And so the infrastructure is being built in front of our eyes and so today I'm going to talk a bit about that. So um as we begin I invite you to bow your heads with me and we'll open with a word of prayer. So shall we pray?
Our [clears throat] heavenly father, we thank you for the blessings of life. Lord, we thank you for the spiritual and the physical food you've blessed us with thus far today. Now, Lord, as we share this afternoon together, I pray that your Holy Spirit will be present in a beautiful and a powerful way. Lord, we want to know learn more about how we are to live in these last days. Lord, we know that rough times are coming, a time of trouble such as never has been since nations first came into existence.
And yet, Father, we know that the end of that ride that the skies will be torn apart and every mountain and island moved out of its place and we'll see Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven. So, Lord, um we know there's a rough ride, but we know what the end of the story is. Uh so, Father, I pray that you give us wisdom and understandment and discerning so we may perceive and know the right way to live. I ask you, Lord, that you uh bless me as I speak now. May my words be taken from your throne of grace.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Okay. So, um [clears throat] this is the this is the um sermon is called True Gold. And and I find myself speaking about this topic more and more because we we're living through a number of resets right now in front of our very eyes.
We're living through a monetary reset. We're living through an economic reset. We're living through a digital reset and we're also living through um a social reset in our nation as well. There's a lot of change happening all around us. And so um America is changing fast.
I don't know how if you agree with me, but I would say that last November when the election results were clear to everybody that America changed in that very moment. And um for instance, the trans activists went from being the most powerful lobby group in America to being kind of cast to one side almost immediately. And that there there was an upending of the social order of the last 10 or 15 years. And America started changing. And I've noticed that just watching um policies that were unthinkable in October 2024 were considered normal by January 2025.
And and so we we're seeing a huge social shift shift in our nation. And if you watch the news, you have um somebody said to me the other day, they said, "If you lie enough, you eventually get journalism." And so, um, apologies to any journalists here today, but, um, if if if you tell a falsehood enough, you're going to get journalism. But it's hard these days to know what is true news and what is fake news. And my wife showed me the other day a picture of a grandma feeding a grizzly bear off her back porch. Some of you have seen some of those videos on social media.
And it's hard to figure out, is this for real or isn't it? you know that the pictures look so convincing like is this really a grandma feeding a grizzly or not? And um particularly since the uh the assassination of Charlie Kirk, America is changing even more. >> And um you know there are certain deaths in human history um that you know that they they bring a change in that nation's history. Uh so for instance um the the death of Martin Luther King uh in the civil rights movement and shortly thereafter you have the civil rights act, you have the fair voting act and the equal housing act.
Three major acts in the civil rights movement and in British history the death of Nelson at the battle of Trfalga. Um he lost his life but won the battle and um that guaranteed that Napoleon could never invade Britain and that paved the way for the British Empire and Protestantism to go all around the world for the next hundred years. So there are certain deaths in human history that are pivotal moments. The death of Julius Caesar is another example. The death of Julius Caesar brought to the the end of the Roman Republic and it ushered in the era of imperial Rome.
And so certain deaths are pivot points within their nation. And we're we're living through a pivot point right now. And uh we see that our nation is changing very fast in front of our eyes. And as Adventists, we kind of know where this is going to go. We know where it's going to end up.
We know what the prophecy says in Revelation 12:1,3 and 14. Um, but the the details of how we get there, those are still known only to God. But we know we're living through profound change. So, um, despite the fact we're living through profound change, Zechariah 9:12 says that we are to be prisoners not of doubt and not of fear, but we are to be prisoners of hope. And I love that phrase that we are prisoners of hope.
That we're captive by hope. that the not the hope of the gospel and the hope of transformation, the trust that God will bring to completion the good work he's begun in each of us and the promise of eternal life in Christ Jesus. When we are prisoners of hope, it means that uh this world struggles to find its way into our hearts and minds. And when you're a prisoner of hope, you're you're looking forward to something better than we have today. So, um I'm going to our journey this afternoon.
This is our journey. We're going to look at the economic reset. We're then going to look at the digital reset going on around us and then we're going to look at the heart reset and then we're going to come to our conclusions um this afternoon. So let's first of all talk about the the economic reset. Um would anybody say that we're on firm financial footing as a nation right now?
>> No. All right. Does anybody believe that your dollar will be worth more in the bank next year than it is worth this year? No. Okay.
So, we all see that something profound is changing. We're living through a once- in an empire monetary reset right in front of our very eyes. And the first problem we have is that we have a national debt and it's huge. Now, officially the national debt is about 37 billion or trillion and change. Yes, that's a lot of money.
That's like a hundred bill. If you stack a $100 bills on top of each other, that's like to the moon and back. I mean, this is this is a lot of money. And so, we are facing um a national debt problem. But if you that's the official debt, say 37 38 trillion.
But if you add in Medicaid and Medicare and Social Security and um military pensions and stuff, the the bill is closer to 200 trillion. Those are offbalance sheet liabilities. Um, I remember when I was um in the Middle East Union, I was the secretary treasurer and we had an employment liability, a retirement liability for all of our retirees worth about um five or six million, but we only had just over a million dollars in assets to cover that. And so, every time I heard of the death of a retiree, I wasn't quite sure how I was supposed to respond. And I suggested to my boss that once people are retired from employment, we should encourage them to take up skydiving, alcohol, and tobacco.
[laughter] That would help our balance sheet here. That's a joke. You understand? For those of you online, that is a joke. Yes.
Um but um we we are facing a a a national debt that is simply unpayable. There is no way to cover our national debt. It's as simple as that. So we we are caught in what some people call um a deficit or debt doom loop. And now the single largest item of expenditure in the federal budget is is the interest payments just on servicing the current debt.
And every time you drop the interest payments by 1% it reduces by about a third of a trillion the annual interest payments we have to pay. So you understand why President Trump wants to lower interest rates because it helps the national budget out. But we are caught in a national debt doom loop from which there is no painless way of escape. So we can either do a hard default which is we say to our creditors we're not paying you back and that would cause an economic catastrophe because many of our pension funds are based on US treasuries and if you you know if you go with Fidelity or Vanguard or Black Rockck which are by far the biggest fund managers out there managing trillions of dollars of assets um if you're a retiree here today much of your retirement income is coming from the payments on US treasuries. ries because that's at the heart of most retirement funds these days.
So if the government says we're not going to pay you back, everybody in here who's a retiree suddenly loses that portion of your retirement. So it's not just foreigners losing money, it's us losing payments ourselves. The other way to to deal with this is have a soft default and this is where you allow inflation to rise and inflation will inflate away the real value of that debt and that's what's happening right now. And so officially the in the the uh interest the inflation rate is two two and a half%. Um if you're trying to if you're a single parent raising two or three kids trying to pay your rent, you know that inflation is running significantly higher than two or two and a half%.
That that those figures simply are not correct. And so when we hear talk about gold revaluation, what we're really talking about is dollar devaluation. So we're facing a national debt crisis. Then to cover our our national debt, it seems that the preferred option for the Federal Reserve is to print money. And uh there are more kinds of fancy economic names for this.
You know, um when President Obama started doing it after the 2008 crisis, it was called quantitative easing. Uh that's a way of just a nice that's a way of letting the people and regular folks know there's a technical process going on here, but it's basically we're creating money out of thin air nowadays. Um rather than looking to control short-term interest rates, the government is trying to control long-term interest rates. And that's known by the fancy name of yield curve control. You've heard of yield curve control?
And so yield curve control is the way the government is essentially saying we will buy as many treasuries as possible, 10 and 30-year treasuries, so that the 30-year interest rate is kept below a target level. And that means unlimited money printing. And that's what the Japanese have done for the last 30 years. And they now have a zombie economy. But some people talk about treasury buybacks and so forth, but the more we print money, the more we're just storing up trouble tomorrow.
>> It doesn't actually solve anything in the long term. So either the currency will become worthless to be replaced by new monetary system or the banking system itself is going to have to collapse and it's almost certain that the government will allow the the currency to collapse to in order to keep the financial system in place with a new monetary system. So that's what's happening with the debt and money printing. Then we have inflation. So um have we all noticed that prices are going up?
>> Yes. Yeah. [clears throat] Prices are going up all the time and the overall cost of living has risen. That means that our real incomes have all declined. So essentially we're all getting poorer year after year after year.
And when people lose trust in their currency, when they see that saving has no value because when you put money in the bank and you save it and maybe you get one or two% interest on it, but inflation is running at 3 or 4%, you're guaranteed to lose money when you put money in the bank. And these days, if you buy a 10-year US Treasury, you're guaranteed to lose money on that. So why would people invest in US 10-year treasuries which were the bedrock of the global financial system uh since the the the currency was was tied to to oil with Kissinger in the 1970s. And so we have inflation running a mock means our paychecks are losing purchasing power. And so what happens is as individuals, we say to ourselves, if I'm paid X amount of money, let's say my wage or my pension, um it's better to turn that into hard assets as soon as possible so I I maintain its value.
So when people get paid, they immediately go and spend their money. And so it looks like the economy is booming because everybody's spending money is what they call a crack up boom rather than a crack down boom. Everybody's spending money as quickly as they can because they don't want to hold dollars in their bank account. they want to turn it into something else. Crypto, land, property, gold, cars, whatever.
Um, they want to turn it into anything except dollars because they know that hard assets will hold their value whereas the dollars are going to lose value if you leave it in the bank. And so, um, as wages lose their purchasing power, so it means that your value to society is becoming debased as well. See, if it takes you 40 hours to provide for a family of labor a week, but inflation goes up, so now it takes 50 hours of work for you to provide for your family, it means that you as a person have lost 20% of your value of your labor. And so if if inflation keeps rising, you reach the point where it's not worth working anymore because you can't pay your bills if you do an honest labor. And so what happens is people step out of the formal economy and they move into the informal economy because that's the only way that they can survive.
So we're having um a national debt crisis. We have a money printing problem. And this is not just Republicans or Democrats. It's all politicians are involved in this. And this goes back 50 or 60 years old all the time to Kissinger and Nixon coming off the gold standard.
So we are now reaping the consequences of 50 to 60 years of proflegate spending in Washington. And the chickens are coming to home to roost right in front of our eyes. And if you don't believe me, just follow the prices of gold and silver. And it's not that gold is going up in price, it's that the purchasing power of the dollar is going down. A kilogram of gold doesn't change, but two years ago it cost you $2,000 to buy an ounce of gold.
Now it cost you $4,000 to buy an ounce of gold. The only thing that's changed, five is it, brother? It's getting there. The only thing that has changed is not the gold. The gold hasn't changed is that the dollars have h haveved in value in the last two years alone.
That's that's an indicator of just how fast this change is happening in front of us. Parallel to this, we have what some people are calling the cost of living crisis because when you add a persistent inflation to money printing and the national debts, uh we're now witnessing a terrible cost of living in crisis. Now, this affects different generations in different ways uh in the midst of this economic reset. So, if you're 65 years of age and you've lived through, say, the golden years of economic expansion, you may have bought a house 20 years ago for $200,000 and now it's worth $900,000. And you think we've done well out of this, okay?
But think of like the 20-year-old people out there. Think of those college graduates who graduating. wages have not quadrupled in the last 20 years, but house prices have. So that means young people can't get on the housing ladder. They see home ownership as an impossible dream.
If you can't if you can never own a home in society, you don't have a stake in that society. And so young people these days uh who can't afford to get on the housing ladder, um they're reduced to renting. And they don't just rent on their own, but they're renting two to three people to a small apartment because that's all they can afford. And so we're building up this this this wave of of like anger in the younger generation who see no prospect of ever being able to own their own home in order they can raise their own family. And so if if we're in the older side of the of the spectrum, we've benefited through having house price increases.
Um when I bought my house in Berian Springs in 2012, it was just over $200,000. Now they say Zillow says it's now worth say 500,000. But my wages haven't gone up by 2 and a half% in that time. They went up by about 12% in that time. So I see in my own family that the house price increase has way outstripped my ability to pay for it if I were to buy it again.
Then I look at my children think how can they ever afford a house? And so we have this sense of alienation from the younger generation because they can't get on the housing ladder. So people are now choosing between rent and food. food shelves are overwhelmed. In Berian Springs, which is a decent neighborhood, you know, where Andrews is, um there's a there's a a program that gives free food away on Tuesday afternoons and the cues stretch for, you know, a long way.
You know, when that is happening because they don't just the queue doesn't go just around neighbor to neighbor, but you have hundreds of cars queuing all up and down the main road there. These are students. These are professors. These are uh you know local professionals who simply can't keep up with the cost of living. And so more and more people even in Berian Springs are relying on free food just to put food on the table.
And because of this cost of living crisis, people are looking for alternate stores of value. There it is upon the screen there. I mentioned before that um the the Basel 3 international regulatory framework for banks. This is a new series of banking regulations around the world and for the first time they've said that gold can be used by banks as a as a reserve and that's equivalent to US treasuries or dollars and that came into effect just a few months ago and so this is from the bank of international settlements and they're recognizing that whereas the US treasuries were the foundation of the US global financial system since the time of the petro dollar and Kissinger now gold is on the rise and gold is now an equivalent tier one asset that banks worldwide can use. Uh we see that uh in the the big bullion banks in the west, there's the Comx commercial exchange in in Washington or New York and in the LBMA, London Bullion Market Association.
Uh the the London Bullion Market Association has probably the largest store of silver in the world and they normally set the gold price every morning uh at for a global level uh because they were the global center for gold and silver bullion trading. What's happened um since January of this year is that um sovereign wealth funds, national governments, and private investors are are taking their money out of the these bullion banks and they're taking it home for themselves. They're taking it out of the system. Why are they taking out out of the system? Because they don't trust that in the future they'll ever be able to get their hands on it.
And so people have contracts. So you may have an ounce of silver in London and and that belongs to me. Um but um I could lease it through the LBMA. I could lease it to somebody else who needs silver for collateral for a loan and then they will lease it to somebody else and when they get their hands on that contract they will short it to somebody else which means you buy high expecting the price to go down in the future then you can then you can buy it you can sell it now and buy it back at lower price in the future make a profit. So people are buying and selling long and short and all the rest of it in London markets.
And so you may have thousands of contracts on one ounce of silver. These are derivatives. So they call it hypothecation. So 1 kilogram of gold or 1 ounce of gold in London may have two or three thousand legal claimments to the ownership of that coin. And because of this, people are now demanding their gold when their contract expires.
They're demanding the gold and the silver out of the system into private bullion vaults because they don't trust that if the system crashes that the their gold and their silver is going to be there for them. And so uh we see around the world not just in terms of this um the the um the gold and silver um soaring in value, but we also see the Genius Act. Remember the Genius Act just a few weeks ago, July 2025, and it really was an act of genius or a slight of hand. And uh so does anybody here buy or sell stable coins? Well, don't raise your hand if you do.
You don't want to admit to that. But uh stable coins are tied to the US dollar. That's why they're called stable. And so if you buy um USDT, that's a US dollar from Tether. Tether is one of the largest supplier of US dollar stable coins.
If you buy a US dollar tether one token, they have to buy in exchange um uh $1 of US treasuries to keep in their reserves. So it's tied to the dollar. And so what happens is if Amazon wants you to buy and sell on Amazon only using the Amazon coin which is going to come out one day then you have to buy and sell Amazon um on Amazon in Amazon tokens but they have to every token you buy they have to buy a US dollar from the Treasury Department or debt a 10-year Treasury uh in order to to make sure that that Amazon token is tied to the US dollar. So the the the stable coin act guarantees that all stable coins are traded in America. They have US dollar backing.
It also gives the US Treasury the ability to switch off any stable coin at a moment's notice. So it's a de facto way to a CBDC in America through private corporations. And so uh then we have young people these days uh who don't deal in cash and they don't deal in checks. Has anybody noticed that these days? >> Okay.
So my generation if if somebody says we want some money from you I go go home and I write out a check and if I give to my if my son's sitting there says dad he says can you lend me 200 for something he's not going to be happy with a check is that right no he wants me to use something like cash app or Venmo so a touch of a button I transfer money electronically from my cash app to his cash app and if he wants he can buy and sell from that cash app or he can withdraw it to his bank account. So our young people, the younger generation, don't use cash, they don't use wires, they don't use checks, and they don't use QCDs either because they're not old enough. They're using cash apps and Venmos, and they're investing or speculating in crypto and Bitcoin and other digital options. And the reason the younger people are not investing in dollars and traditional investment accounts is because they don't believe they're going to be around for the next 50 years. So that their young people have already voting with they're voting with their feet and they're shifting to um electronic forms of money.
The point about this is we're going through a monetary reset and in front of our eyes the the architecture of global finance of our household incomes our savings and our pensions is shifting in front of our very eyes and this isn't being announced on mainstream media. If you look at C CBC or CNBC or these uh Fox Business, they all try and tell you it's business as usual, business as usual. for the last people to know when everything changes is the general public. And at the moments, the big financial institutions are moving as fast as they can into a new monetary system. And the people left holding the can will be Joe public when it all comes crashing down.
So this is what's happening in front of us. And I hope you're suitably cheered up after lunch. Now you know um money is a money is um a store of many things but money is a store of time and energy and skill and my wife lived through the collapse of the Soviet Union where they thought their system would last from cradle to grave. That's what they were promised. And they worked their entire life and they paid into the Soviet system.
And then when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1989, 1990, um my my father-in-law, who's now passed away, um his savings, life savings became worthless literally overnight and he was about to retire. And so he started saving um he started saving cash wherever he could. He was an electrical engineer and he would store it under his bed. And then when President Yelton came to power in 1991, a couple of years later, he announced that they were going to switch to a new currency. And the new currency switch happened last night at midnight.
And all of the currency under people's beds was now worthless as well. So he went through the these massive losses and I had friends who were in Poland in the 1990s and they were being paid in zotti. That zlotti, that's a Polish currency. And there were 4,000 zlotties to a pound sterling. And one day the government announced that they were striking three zeros off the currency.
So if you had a thousand zlotty note, it was now illegal. Everything was now going to be one or 10 zlotty notes. Anything with a hundred or thousand or 10,000 lotties, all of that was illegal. And people lost their life savings overnight. These things happen.
It just hasn't happened to us yet here in America. But this has happened on repeated occasions throughout the world where currencies governments just slashed the value of their currencies overnight or they literally say yes the currency you were paid in yesterday now no longer exists and so your life savings are gone and when you're a retiree or a pensioner this is devastating and so when I was in Azabaijan or Tajakistan um every day I'd walk to work and there were pensioners sitting along the side of the road selling their household furniture. They were selling their household furniture because all they wanted was a loaf, a round piece of round bread. It's called the lepioski. Is round unleaven bread.
It's cooked in a tandoori oven. They were looking for one lepioski to feed themselves that day. When I visit people in their homes, including Adventists, the thing that struck me was how empty their homes were. Everything had been sold to pay for food. Everything.
So, these things happen. But in order for us to go through that final political and economic reset, there has to be a way of imposing the mark of the beast. And so I want to switch now to the digital reset that is happening in front of our eyes as we sit here today. Well, some of you will remember that last week or two weeks ago, the British Prime Minister made headlines and he said before the end of this current parliament, which is another two years, he said we're going to introduce mandatory digital IDs for every adult citizen in the UK. And he said, and the reason we're going to do this is then we're going to um say to employers, you cannot hire somebody for employment unless they or unless they have a digital ID.
and he said this is one way that will stop illegal immigration. Now there was an immediately there was um push back there it is from the British government new digital ID scheme to be rolled out across the UK says make it easier for the vast majority of people to use with government services and digital ID will be mandatory for right to work checks by the end of the parliament that was just this week 26th of September just a few days ago and so um people said well excuse me but you're not allowed to work without a passport or a national social security mber. Um, so, uh, we already have these mechanisms in place to stop employers taking on illegal aliens. So, why would a digital ID make any difference? We already have mechanisms in place to filter out illegal aliens from legitimate employment.
And so, there was a massive putback. Here we have Starma, that's the UK prime minister. Digital ID work requirement sparks uproar from UK's left and right. And so, Farage is a right-winger. He's like the British equivalent of you might say um not quite Trump but he's not far from Trump and Corbyn is our equivalent of AOC.
So you have right and left um attacking this ID push as excessive state power and people in the UK who are very secular were immediately talking about the mark of the beast and no buy no sell rules. and they were looking in the book of revelation and the secular news channels and saying this is going to bring about the mark of the beast even though they have almost no background in in revelation or new testament people recognized this was a problem and so there was immediately an online petition started off and within a couple of days it had over two and a half million people signing that petition asking the government not to bring out a digital ID and so there were civil rights activists human rights lawyers members of parliament pastors were denouncing this trade Union leaders were demand denouncing it. Almost nobody in Britain wanted this digital ID. And so right now there's a big political battle in Britain of whether we're going to get digital IDs. So the question is why are we seeing a push for digital IDs in 2025?
Well, it goes back to the United Nations and before the year 2000, the United Nations had millennial development goals. And so the United Nations wanted to uh eliminate poverty around planet earth. And so they had what they called the millennium development goals. And um this is from the United Nations website. It says um close to 40% of the population of the developing world was living in extreme poverty only two decades ago.
That was 1980. Since then the world has harved extreme poverty with the United Nations Millennium Development Goal MDGs greatly contributing to this progress. So the UN didn't achieve its goal of eliminating poverty by the year 2000 through the Millennium Development Goals. So um as all good administrators do, they simply shifted the goalposts and changed the name. And now then then it became known as agenda 2030.
You've heard of agenda 2030? This is probably more significant than project 2025. So agenda 2030 and this is from the United Nations here again. It says, "Recognizing the success of the Millennium Development Goals and the need to complete the job of eradicating uh poverty, the UN adopted the ambitious 2030 agenda for sustainable development, which includes then there's a whole shopping list here of desirable goals. They say ending poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, uh clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life above life below water, life on land, peace, justice and strong institutions, and partnerships for the goals.
And that sounds like a list of nice things. Yes. Um but the devil is always in the detail on these things. And these the the the agenda 2030, it's all over the United Nations website. None of this is hidden.
And so the United Nations um then in 2015 having agreed on the 2030 agenda, they put in place the G3P um program which is the global public private partnership. And this is this is taken from their descriptions here. So you have the policy makers up here and so you have the bank of international sett settlements uh which is the central bank to the world's banks then have the world central banks like the bank of England or the federal reserve then you have these bodies here you have the world economic forum the council foreign relations the club of Rome Chattam House in London and the Rockefellers and those are the global think tanks then you have the policy distributors so they don't make the policy here but they um they they distribute it around the world. So you have the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, uh that's the uh climate change body, the World Bank, WHO, philanthropists like Bill Gates, global corporations and NOS's, non-governmental organizations such as the general conference in Washington. Uh yeah, literally we we are legally obliged to support all these things.
Then the policy enforcers are national governments with all their agencies and selective scientific authorities around the world. So SAGE is the emergency medical committee in Britain. Uh the FDA, NIH, um CDC over here. There's the Japanese group there. And then you have the the propagandists.
Those are the um mainstream media and the hybrid warfare specialists like the fact checkers, social media platforms, and so forth. anti-hate campaigners and so forth like this um southern Paul southern poverty law company SPLC there then you have the subjects that's you and I down here so that there's a whole kind of hierarchy here and we saw this in practice all the way during the the co pandemic and we're you're down here and everybody here all the decision makers in the globalist elites are all telling you how you need to behave down here so this is the the global public private partnership that the UN put together from 2015 on in order to um I wouldn't say implement but to drive the the millennia the uh agenda 2030 and just so you know that's where the general conference fits in right there. So we're part of the globalist structure that is one day going to implement the mark of the beast. Let's just say it plainly as it is. There's our um we are we we have consultative status at the United Nations ECOS economic and social council which legally obliges us to support the goals and objectives of the United Nations.
That's we are legally obliged to support them. And if you look closely at what those goals actually state, if you look at I'm going to and we're just going to look at the goals under 16 for a minute now. Goal 16 is to promote just, peaceful and and inclusive societies. That sounds pretty good. Yes.
H well those are the specific goals there. This is on the UN website. So they want to significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere. So these are the these are the targets. Then they also have indicators for how they know whether they're achieving success in in in meeting their goals here.
So this one here is to end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children. I think that's a great a great goal to have. Um one way not to accomplish that is to open the southern border. Um because that encourages the exploitation and trafficking of children and then you promote the rule of law at the national international levels to ensure equal access to justice for all. All right.
So you have all these different things here and 16.9 is all I want to focus on this afternoon is to by 2030 provide legal identity for all including birth registration. Now what does that mean in practice? Well, in 2015 when this was voted, when this got voted almost immediately, the UN set up, this was the goal 16.9 by 2030 provide legal identity for all, including birth registration. And then the indicator was 16.9 the numbers go together is the proportion of children under five years of age whose births have been registered with the civil authority by age. Now you say, well, what's the problem with that?
If you if your birth is not registered, you can't go to school, for instance. If your birth is not registered, you don't have a legal personality, you can't get access to health care, etc. And you know, I was in in Azabbah when I was out there, many children in rural parts, their parents couldn't afford to buy them a birth certificate. And that meant their children could not go to school and they couldn't go to the hospitals because they didn't legally exist. So we may say it's a good thing that all the children in the world have a legal ID.
The problem is what kind of ID we talking about? So this got voted in 2015 and almost immediately the UN um set up the ID 2020 alliance. And the ID2020 alliance was established in late 2015. um it was a global private partnership to implement a global digital ID scheme in order to fulfill social develop sustainable development goal 16.9. So having voted for this to provide legal identity for all early in 2015 immediately the UN set up we'll come back to that the 2020 alliance ID 2020 alliance which is to implement a global digital ID scheme.
So once they started the implementation then the ID 2020 alliance was set up um to uh uh roll out a global digital ID scheme and in summary what that scheme is you see it on the screen there the goal of SDG 16.9 so sustainable development goal 16.9 and the 2020 alliance which is a legal entity they have a website you can read what they're doing there none of this is it is being done in a hidden manner most people don't follow these things the real goals are three-fold. Number one is to empower a new global governance regime. Number two, to exploit threats, both real and imagined um to advance the new globalist regime objectives. And the third goal or the third implication of this is to force an unwarranted, unwelcome, centrally controlled global system of digital ID upon all of humanity. Now, [clears throat] if you read the United Nations website, they sell this in the nicest possible way.
They say, "We want to be inclusive [snorts] and we want to make sure that everybody has equal access to public health, public transport, social security, education, justice, transport, food, and employment." That's what they say. We want everybody to be in part of the system. But what they don't say is that if you have that digital ID and they switch you off, you are frozen out from global access to health and education and justice and transport and retirement and social security and buying and selling of food. That's what they don't say. And you say, well, um, would they ever do that?
Well, the UN the ID 2020 program set up a couple of years later. They they did a pilot run of this and they chose some Karen refugees along the Myanmar Thailand border and the international rescue committee that a well-known international NGO and a partner called I respond. They rolled out biometric IDs for all the newborn newborn children in the Karen refugee population along the Myanmar Thailand border. This was heavily promoted in the mainstream media at the time and the project tied the Korean refugees access to food aid and vital medical services to their participation in the digital ID scheme. That is if you get the digital ID will give you food.
If you don't get a digital ID, you get no food as refugees. Participation was voluntary. So said the aid agency, but they made it clear that the refugees vaccination status would be incorporated into their digital IDs and registering for the ID for these refugees was contingent upon satisfactory vaccine status. Thus, the Karen refugees were forced to accept vaccination and use digital IDs or face denial of access to medical treatment and a refusal that they would be provided food. They face starvation.
So the uh this was piloted with a vulnerable refugee population just before the pandemic and there is no doubt that the core members of ID 2020 know exactly what they're doing. There was a famous article published in 2018 um by um Microsoft in their internal um chatboards and uh there are certain websites like archive.is you can go back and look at every website in human history. So these things can't be hidden. And this is a famous article. It was called Microsoft Microsoft a part of the the ID2020 alliance universal digital ID and you and so that the title this was written in 2020 says last year Microsoft joined ID 2020 a global alliance whose goal is to create universal digital identities for everyone.
What are the social, economic and and ethical implications of such an initiative? Well, the article goes on to discuss how this is going to work and then it discusses how will a global digital ID system affect those who are who don't say um go along with the dominant narrative. They discussed it in their article and the article goes on to say near the bottom it says as more and more transactions become digital in nature and are built around a single global identification standard supported by Microsoft the question of who will govern this evolving global community and economy becomes relevant especially since non-participants in the system would be unable to buy or sell goods or services. So there you have it. Even the people in the ID 2020, Microsoft, these are this internal discussion chat board became quite notorious this particular discussion that non-participants in the digital ID system will be unable to buy or sell goods or services.
Does that sound familiar to anybody here today? >> All right. So these things are happening in front of our eyes. We're not just watching a monetary reset. We're watching a push for a digital reset for every person on planet Earth.
When the UN globalist regime talks about inclusion, in reality, they're building a glo a global digital ID system that is inherently exclusionary. And it can pu punish critics or silence dissident voices by simply cutting them off from the digital ID system. And that digital mechanism for the imposition of the mark of the beast is therefore being built before our very eyes. And that is why we're seeing a renewed push for digital IDs all around the world today. It's not just Britain, but it's happening in many, many countries.
And in many countries, the government should do it. And other countries, there's push back. But this is what is happening around our world today. I'm not sure how and when it's going to be rolled out in in America, but I do know this is that governments have a million and one ways to get things to happen. They say why don't you just go through this and then your the your your government processing will become easier and if you click on a few things without realizing it's a digital ID you suddenly signed up for an expedited way of processing your pension for instance and you've actually signed up for a digital ID without realizing it.
So the governments can either bring it in with a heavy hand or they can bring it in with a soft hand. They can bring it in with a mailed fist or with the velvet glove. But one way or the other, these digital IDs are coming our way. If you don't believe me, then more and more the planes that I take, I don't need to bring my passport to the airport anymore. I just stand in front of a camera and it looks at my eyes and says, "Yes, you are who you say you are." And that's just the way the planes are going these days.
And they're using biometric identification. And if you go through Chicago O'Hare airport, you can wait in the long long queue maybe miss your plane or you can go through clear where you just look in front of it and takes a picture of you and then it says yeah you're good to go and when you arrive back from overseas if you come back from overseas if you have the global entry program you fly into JFK and you have your next flight to Chicago is in a 90 minutes time and there's 5,000 people in immigrations in JFK you know you're never going to get through that. So, you sign up for the Global Entry program, which is they do an interview with you. They check that you're a trustworthy person and then all you do is you stand in front of this this console and it and it says take a step back and do it takes a picture and it says you're clear to entry. You don't have to speak to an officer.
You just walk into United States and they know who you are from your biometrics. And so, um, bit by bit, our digital data is becoming, uh, held by multiple government agencies. And if I if there was a a mark against my name, um I could simply be refused entry because I failed a biometric test. And so this this is becoming more and more problematic. I was once in Turkey.
I decided to take a local flight which I paid with cash down into northern Iraq. And um I paid for it in cash thinking wasn't going to be tracked. I arrived back in O'Hare and I was taken to a side room for a discussion about why I went into northern Iraq. I thought I didn't buy that with electronics. I just put paid cash at the airport for the flight.
But they knew they were tracking me. When I came back to Chicago, I had to answer for why I was in northern Iraq when ISIS was running around there. So, a lot of things are tracked these days without us really realizing it. So, we have an economic reset taking place. there's a digital reset taking place.
I would encourage you to start looking for the ID 2020 alliance and start paying paying paying uh careful attention to the roll out of digital IDs because it's happening in front of our eyes in many countries around the world. So let's then talk about the heart reset because how do we respond to all of this stuff that's going on around here? Well um Jesus [clears throat] says this in Luke 21 25-28. He says, "There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth, distress among nations, confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will faint from fear and forboding of what is coming upon the world.
For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads because your redemption drawth nigh." So when people's hearts are failing them for fear for what is coming upon the world, we are to be prisoners of hope as Zechariah 9 and:12 says, "And God has given us a prophetic voice and message in these end times. So we are not to walk in darkness and gloom, but we are to walk in the light with hearts filled with hope." It's hard to do that when we see what is happening in our world today, but that is what God is calling us to do. In Luke chapter 19, uh Jesus goes on to say this.
He says this to the children of Jerusalem. He says, "As he came nearer and saw the city, he wept over it and said, "If you even you," that is Jerusalem, had only recognized on this day the things that make for peace, but now they are hidden from your eyes. Indeed, the days will come upon you when your enemies will set at ramparts around you and surround you and hem you in on every side. They will crush you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave within you one stone upon another because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God. And so Jesus outlined um he gave this pronounces judgment upon the people of Jerusalem.
And the disciples, they see that Jesus says that not one stone will be left upon another. And in Matthew 24, the disciples are troubled by this because to them, the temple was the center of planet earth. The temple was the meeting place between God and mankind. The temple was where forgiveness was found in the sacrificial system. So to them, the temple was the the the nexus of God's plan for humanity's salvation.
That was where God met humanity in the worship service there. And so when Jesus says not one stone is going to be left upon another, the disciples were concerned about this. What is Jesus talking about? And so Jesus was talking here about the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in AD.70. Sister White talks about it in great controversy page 25.
She says this speaking about this passage and parallel passage in Matthew 24. She said, "Christ presented before them an outline of the prominent events to take place before the close of time, that is the second coming of Jesus. His words were not then fully understood, but their meaning was to be unfolded as his people should need the instruction therein given." The prophecy which he uttered was two-fold in its meaning. while foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem, it prefigured also the terrors of the last great day. And so in Luke 19 and then in Matthew 24, Jesus gives these prophecies that ostensibly deal with the destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 by the Romans and the end of the Jewish nation as an independent entity at the time.
And he he co-mingles that intermingles that with his discussion about the end of times before Jesus comes again. And in particular, you can go through Matthew 24 verse by verse and identify this is the fall of Jerusalem. This is the second coming of Christ. But he uses similar imagery to relate to refer to each of those two catastrophic events. And so in Matthew 24, Jesus uses one phrase and then if you compare scripture with scripture um in Luke 21, we find an explanation.
And so Matthew 24, Jesus says to the disciples, "So when you see the desolating sacrilege standing in the holy place as was spoken of by the prophet Daniel, let the reader understand, then those in Judea must flee to the mountains." And Jesus is speaking here about the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans who invaded in AD66 and they destroyed Jerusalem in AD70. And the parallel passage in Luke says, "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near, then those in Judea must flee to the mountains and those inside the city must leave it and those out of the country must not enter it." And so when when you when you ask yourself what is this desolating sacrilege or abomination of desolation, some translations say in Matthew, Luke explains it. When you see Jerusalem surrounded by these are the Roman pagal pagan armies and they're standing in the holy place. Now that holy place is not the holy place in the temple. Outside the walls of Jerusalem there was an area known as the holy place and that was where the Romans first came in AD66.
And when they came in AD66 they came to the city of Rome of Jerusalem and they almost surrounded the city. But then the Roman general named Cestius, he set up his his pagan banners on that holy ground outside of Jerusalem. And this is what Jesus is speaking of in these two passages. But then what happened was, I'm sure you know the the story here, for some reason, still unknown to historians, the Roman general withdrew his armies back to Damascus. And the Christians, listen to this warning by Jesus, and the Christians fled Jerusalem.
and they fled across the Jordan to a city called Pella, just south of the Sea of Galilee, modern day Jordan. And it's believed that not one Christian perished in the destruction of Jerusalem. Like the Christians took seriously Jesus' warnings. So if Jesus, if not one Christian perished in the the destruction of Jerusalem where hundreds of thousands perished and those who survived were all sold into slavery, then maybe we should be paying more attention to these prophecies of Jesus as well. Because the Christians who listened, they survived.
And the Christians who either didn't know or didn't care or couldn't be bothered to read it, they they didn't survive. So, Sister White writes about this. She says, "When the idolatrous standards of the Romans were set up in the holy ground, which extended some furlongs outside the city walls, then the followers of Christ would find safety and flight. when the warning sign should be seen, those who would escape must make no delay. She goes on to say, after the Romans under Cestius had surrounded the city, they unexpectedly abandoned the siege when everything seemed favorable for immediate attack.
That was in AD66. The besieged, despairing of successful resistance, won the point of surrender when the Roman general withdrew his forces without the least apparent reason. But God's merciful providence was directing events for the good of his own people. The promised sign had been given to the waiting Christians. Now an opportunity was afforded for all who would to obey the Savior's warning.
Without delay, they fled to a place of safety, the city of Pella in the land of Berea, modern beyond Jordan. And so the Christians at the time of the uh the destruction of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple, they knew the warnings of Christ in Luke 19 and Matthew 24. And when they saw the Roman standards outside the city of Rome and the Romans withdrew, the Christians didn't wait for a letter from the Sanhedrin to say it's time to leave. They knew the teachings of Jesus and they fled. So why am I talking about this?
Sister White, we're talking about money and monetary resets today. Sister White says, "It is not it is no time now for God's people to be laying up their treasures in this world. The time is not far distant when like the early disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in desolate and solitary places. As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flights to the Judeian Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the decree enforcing the papal Sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for a tide homes in secluded places among the mountains.
Now, we're all familiar with this, I think, as Adventists, this kind of this kind of idea that we're talking about here, that when the papal Sabbath, that is a Sunday, is enforced in the United States, that's a warning to leave the larger cities. Now, I don't know what your definition of a large city is. Uh when my wife and I before we got married, I used to live in the city of London. And when I drove to my apartment in London, it was my four hours of driving through heavy builtup connibations to get to my apartment. I felt like I was driving into a cement jungle.
And if I wanted to see greenery, I'd drive for three or four hours on Friday afternoon to get out of the city to see the green fields again. And so to me, London was a big city of 12 or 10 to 12 million people. And then when my I married my wife, [snorts] we were living um in in the went to s move in live in a city called Baku, the capital of Azabahan, which had many many Soviet apartment blocks. And we were living in a big city with a metro and so forth. And um we live in the city and you have the rumble of the metro under your house at night.
And then when we came to America, we we came to small town America in southern Minnesota. It was a town of 50,000. And I was used to living with 12 million then 2 million. I came to 50,000 thought man this is kind of like you know small says this is very small here and said yeah I guess it is and then when we moved from there to northern Minnesota to 12,000 said man this is getting smaller still and then we moved to Berian Springs in 2011 a town of about 3 to 4,000 people plus students let's say 8,000 in total we thought we were entering the wastelands like do people even live here like there's No Walmart. How can you live with no Walmart?
The only redeeming factor was there was a Taco Bell, but then that that closed down. So, it was really bad news. So, we went from large city to smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller places. The point is your definition of what a large city is may vary depending on where you're living now. Like I have friends who live at work at Lom Minda and they live opposite the valley in the country which is heavily built up area in the foothills of the mountains there.
That to them is countryside and to me this is heavily urbanized area. And so everybody has a different definition of what it means to leave the large cities. But I would say this, if if if you if you choose to to move to a large American city these days, you need your head looking at because unless you are compelled to go somewhere for health or employment reasons, people are trying to leave the cities in America. Even in the pandemic, people were fleeing California, they were fleeing New York, they were fleeing Maryland, and they were buying in Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. And secular people were moving out of the large cities because they saw that social cohesion is breaking down.
So if even secular people can see that social cohesion is breaking down. I mean honestly who goes for a romantic walk in downtown Portland at night these days. Nobody. You may get macaed or smashed over the head. You know the violence is on those streets there.
It happens night after night after night. Nobody's moving into the cities by choice, people are moving out of the cities, even secular folks. So, Sister White says here that ju just as the the Roman armies, their arrivals are signal for the flight of the Judeian Christians, so the the the papal Sabbath in the United States will be a warning to us to leave the large cities for the smaller ones and eventually for secluded places among the mountains. So there is a progression that she talks about here in that papal Sabbath. She says that [clears throat] Sunday is from the Catholic record September 1, 1923.
Somebody asked me a question about this earlier today. This is the quote I had for you. Sunday is our mark of authority. The church is above the Bible. And this transference of Sabbath observance that is to the Sunday is proof of that fact.
So that is why we call Sunday the papal Sabbath. And you find that in the Catholic record September one. But you if you also look in the catechism where it discusses the ten commandments, there is some discussion there about the Catholic authority to change the law of God. But Sister White talks about this and she says as we as we're living through this time, she says instead instead of send instead of spending our means on self-gratification, we should be studying to economize. economize.
She says, "Our missions must be sustained and new missions must be opened." I read somewhere once that the Adventist church opened more institutions in the Great Depression than any other decade in American history. Like when the world was falling apart economically in America, we were investing in mission. And in the pandemic when I was in Germany, I noticed there that over three years in the pandemic, more lifestyle uh wellness centers opened privately than any other time in German Adventist history. The people were moved. They saw what was happening said we must be about our father's business.
And so when other people are kind of restricting and closing down and shutting down, faithful Adventists were saying in times of crisis, that's precisely when we step forward. We step out in faith and we see what God is going to do for us. And so, Sister White says this. Instead of spending our means in self-gratification, we should be studying to economize. Our missions must be sustained.
New missions must be opened. Houses of worship are needed where the people may be invited to hear the truths for this time. For this very purpose, God has entrusted a capital to his stewards. Let not your property be tied up in worldly enterprises, so this work should be hindered. Get get your means where you can handle it for the benefit of the cause of God.
send your treasures before you into heaven. And if you see that last scene in the movie Schindler's List where Oscar Schindler, he realizes that he saved all these hundreds of people from the Holocaust. And as he's standing there, he looks at his ring, his decorative ring on his finger, and he's he he's trying to tear it off. He says, "I could have saved somebody by giving up this ring." and he's looking at his fancy dress and his nice clothes, his stylish dress, and he realizes that the things that he thought were important were really unimportant when it came to saving somebody from the the Holocaust. There's a very powerful scene at the end of Oscar's that movie Schindler's List.
Well, how much more for us when we realize when we get to heaven how many people could have been saved, had we been focused on sharing the gospel? And had we been focused not on building earthly kingdoms, but on building God's kingdom, the kingdom of grace today and the kingdom of glory tomorrow. And so, Sister White says, "We are to send your treasures, send our treasures before us into heaven." And that parallels what Jesus says in Matthew 6:19-20. I've put the word treasure in red there uh just to kind of emphasize it. She says Jesus says do not stir up for yourself treasures on earth where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal but store up for yourself treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal otherwise known as politicians debasing your currency.
For where your treasure is there your heart will be also. So why do we accumulate material goods? We generally m accumulate material goods because material wealth represents physical security. We we we accumulate material goods and wealth because it reflects an underlying fear and uncertainty about what the future hap what may bring to us. We're basically prepping for the future.
We often say for a rainy day. Yes, we use that expression which means we know that bad times are coming and we want to cushion those bad times by saving today. But Jesus teaches us in the Matthew chapter 6 in the sermon on the mount that it is the possession of material wealth is often a source of anxiety rather than a means of escape from anxiety. Now, I don't know about you, but I've met many wealthy people in my life in the course of my various responsibilities. And some of them have the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 running on a screen in front of their desk.
And their emotional state goes up and down with the Dow Jones and the S&P 500. Literally, you go up 500, the world is a great place. You drop 200, the sky is falling in on us. What are we going to do? Don't ask me for anything today because we just dropped two and a half%.
I lost a quarter of 1% of my investments today. And so the wealthy are often consumed by fear of loss. And the poor have no fear of loss because they have nothing to lose. So when I go to a place like Namibia where everybody's like dirt poor and you think well you don't need to check the Dow Jones because it doesn't affect anybody out here ever. Everybody's got a little plot of land.
They've got a goat few chickens a cow and they go and hunt some food and that's how they live. And if the Dow Jones goes to 100,000 or 100 it doesn't affect them in one way at all. So the the poorest in society don't care about what happens. And the wealthy in society are consumed by fear of loss. And so where do we fit into that equation?
Jesus teaches us that every material possession is affected by depreciation, debasement, or decay. Has any of you ever bought a new car, then somebody kind of nicked it? How did your feelings change towards that new car? >> It's just a new It's just a car. Yes.
It's your pride and joy and somebody nicks it and now it's just a car. Is that right? Some somebody please say yes to that. Or [clears throat] or you buy yourself a new suit and then um you're rushing to church and your 2-year-old vomits over it. Okay, it's just a suit.
I'll put it in the dry cleaning. I'll go back to my old suit. You see, material things don't have their luster for very long. they degrade very very quickly. When they decay, when they decay degrade, we kind of lose interest in them.
Um, so many people they have their wealth, but then they're consumed and paralyzed by fear of loss, spending much of their time managing or preserving their wealth. And I've noticed when I was in Minnesota that there so many men had so many toys that they spent from, you know, September and October was basically Sundays were spent winterizing all their toys. There were a lot of toys to winterize. I have to drain the engines, drain the fluids, put the carport, the tarps over it. I need to shrink wrap this boat.
I need to do this to this. I mean, there all kinds of stuff. And I was astonished at how much time is spent just managing our stuff. So Jesus says, "Store up for yourself treasures in heaven." says, "Christians are not to be anxious concerning the material necessities of this life because of our confidence that we have a heavenly father who knows our needs and he's going to provide for us." That doesn't mean that we become lazy. We are to work to provide for our needs.
1 Thessalonians 4:10 says this, "But we urge you, beloved, to do to but to do so more and more, to aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands as we directed you, so that you may behave properly towards outsiders and be dependent on no one." The Apostle Paul goes on to say, "Those who do not work should not should not eat." And so, we have a responsibility, as we saw in our first talk this morning, when it comes to physical security. We prepare and we pray and for our daily survival we work and then we trust in the Lord. We do what we can and we trust in the Lord to make up whatever shortfall that there may be. So we are not to be anxious like the people of our world. We're not to um follow the Dow Jones as if it's you know we're we're addicted to this thing.
My father used to get the Financial Times once a year. That was on New Year's Eve. That's the main financial newspaper in England. It's comes on pink newspaper for some reason. And my father would look at uh the stock market and look at whatever savings funds he had and it say it's gone up like 7% this year.
And that was the only time my father would look at that from year year to year to year. He said to Connor, he said there's no point worrying about it. >> That's right. >> When you retire, if it's there, it's there. If it ain't there, there's nothing you can do.
It's too late. So I'll just I'll have a passing once you check it out, see where it is. But I'm not going to be consumed by this because I I I used, for instance, I used to work for Avage Frontier Missions. They're my employer, but God is my provider. And I may live on social security, but God is my provider.
And I may work for the state of Oregon, they're my employer, but God is my provider, and he knows my needs, and he's going to take care of me. So, in all the economic reset we've been talking about and the economic crisis that's coming our way and the loss of our savings and all the digital stuff that's coming and digital ideas and the forces of this world collaborating to to exclude those who are faithful to God, our provider is our heavenly father and he knows our needs and he says if you seek first my kingdom and my righteousness, I'm going to take care of all these other things for you. >> Amen. >> So, it's an invitation to trust in Jesus. uh heaven.
The investments that Jesus wants us to have are treasures in heaven. Such treasure according to Jesus is permanent. It's unaffected by thieves or the IRS. It is unaffected by government induced currency debasement like the big beautiful bill or the COVID expenditure. Is unaffected by rampant inflation.
Is unaffected by physical decay or the ravages of time. These are heavenly investments guarded by God for his faithful children to receive when Jesus comes again. What a beautiful prospect. And so Jesus says, "Do not store up for yourself treasures in heaven." And the word there is thesaurus. There is there treasures.
Treasures treasures. Um that's the plural. This is the singular here. But we get the English word um this is thesaurus. Thesurus.
Thesurus. Theor thesaurus. We get the word thesaurus from it. So you know thesaurus is a book and that's where the word comes from. It's a treasure book and it tells you all the various meanings of a simile for a certain word.
So Jesus says,"Do not store up for yourself theor thesauruses on earth, but store up for yourself treasures or thesauruses in heaven. For where your thesaurus is, your treasure is, there your heart will be also." So what exactly does it mean to store up for yourself treasures in heaven? Where global digital IDs and the IRS cannot get their hands on it? What does that mean in practice? Well, in Matthew 2:1, the first gifts that were brought to Christ were the wise men.
And it's the same word used. Then opening their treasure chests, the word is they sorus. It's the same word that is used there as in Matthew 6. They offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrr. Why those things?
I think the reason they brought him gold, frankincense, and myrr was because gold was a gift fit for a king. Frankincense was a gift for a priest. It was used in the high priestly sanctuary service. And myrrh was a recognition that one day he'll be a sacrifice. It's a preserving um embalming liquid.
Thank you, sister. And that would have been used to embalm the body of Christ. When they brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh, they were saying Jesus is a king. He's a priest and he's our sacrifice. So the mean, so these gifts have meaning.
In ancient times, it was customary to bring a gift to a ruler as an act of homage and worship. Joseph's brothers brought him gifts when he was a prime minister of Egypt. In Genesis 43, the Queen of Sheba brought gifts to Solomon in First Kings 10. And so, we are to bring our treasures as an act of worship to the King of Kings. So, how do we bring our treasures as an act of worship to God?
Well, the first text I'd draw on is Romans 12 and verse one, where Paul says, "I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living what? Sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." So therefore, how we treat our bodies, what we put into our bodies, the exercise we do to our bodies, the damage we do to our bodies is ultimately an expression of our relationship with our heavenly father. And the more we look after our bodies and the more we take care of our bodies and the more we live, you might say, according to the avenous health message and the principles that have been given to us that go all the way back to the the Garden of Eden from forward from there in time, the more we we live according to these healthy principles, we are saying to God, this incredible body that you've given me, I'm going to take care of it as an act of worship to you. If you give your child at the age of three a little truck for Christmas and he looks at you and looks at the truck and then he smashes it to the ground, what does that tell you about the relationship with your little boy? He's not very happy with you.
Yes. But if somebody very dear to you gives you a little present, you treasure that for a long time. Not because of the gift itself, but because of the one who gave it to you. So we honor God and we uh we we give an act of worship to our heavenly father by taking care of our physical bodies. We discovered that during the pandemic honoring your body honors your creator.
Next passage I'll look at briefly here is 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. The apostle Paul says there shun fornication. Every sin that a person commits is outside the body. But the fornicator sins against the body itself. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own.
For you are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. So when we steward our bodies, because our bodies are a gift from God, so we are stewards of the bodies that God has given us. We are to be stewards of our bodies in a holy and an honorable manner. We are to avoid sexual immorality in all of its forms, not just fornication, but adultery and masturbation and porn, etc., etc.
We prepare our bodies to be the temple of the Holy Spirit by living lives of moral purity. Now, if a large crowd like this, if this were a regular American crowd, probably 70% of the people here are regular consumers of porn. if this were a regular American crowd. But because it's an Adventist crowd, let's say it's maybe 40 to 50% of people here are watching porn. >> And I've met so many marriages where the wife is traumatized on a daily basis because if a husband commits adultery once, it's once and done and she goes through the full emotional response.
But if she knows he's watching porn on a daily basis, she's going through that whole traumatizing experience every single day. It's devastating for marriages. It's like cancer in the body of Christ. I've spoken about this before, but if we are serious about offering our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, then we need to gain victory over these besetting sins that are only too prevalent even among Adventists. So I won't say much more about that today on that particular topic, but I would say that porn is a is a sin that keeps you out of heaven.
Porn is also neurochemical addiction and is is almost impossible to kick it on your own. And there are excellent programs out there. Purdesire.org is one. Um conquers.com is another. These are excellent programs out there where particularly men find freedom from pornography.
And it's not just that you're feeding finding freedom from porn, but in the process you're restoring your marriage and healing your wife's heart. So I'd appeal to you out there today if you are engaging this kind of stuff and fornication outside of marriage, adultery, but outside of your existing marriage or self harm or pornography, then listen carefully to the text, the word of God. It says, "Flee from fornication." Flee from it. That is actively flee from it. Have nothing to do with it in your lives because our bodies are to be the temples of the Holy Spirit.
And when we engage in illicit sexual activities, we open our bodies to be the dwelling places of demons. So, it's something we need to flee from. I won't dwell much more on that today, but 1 Thessalonians 2:1 19-20, the Apostle Paul says, "For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting for our Lord Jesus that is coming? Is it not you?" That is the church of Thessalonica. Yes, you are our glory and you are our joy.
So, this passage tells us that the treasure that Christ seeks above all else is the salvation of lost people. And Paul is saying that you, the church we've established in Thessalonica, a town in northern Greece today, he said, "You are our crown of boasting. You are our hope and you are our joy and you are our glory." That it's not what we write that brings glory to God. It's the fact that souls have been saved brings glory to God. And so from a Christian perspective, when we want treasures in heaven and we want glory and joy and a crown of boasting in heaven, the implication is we're to be actively involved in soulwinning and making disciples for Jesus.
And so we unite, we're invited in this passage here to become fishes of men to unite with Jesus in his last work of redemption so that we can share with Jesus in the riches won through his death and resurrection. And so laying up heavenly treasure in this verse means that we become actively involved in soulwinning here in southern Oregon. And yes, it's easy to complain about this administrator or that conference and all the rest of it. But what's more important is we become actively involved in soulwinning for our neighbors, for our families, and for those around us. I want to encourage you to be praying about this.
Am I actively involved in soul-winning? Am I involved in Bible studies with somebody? Am I using the spiritual gifts that God has blessed me with? Am I sitting on my talents? Or am I am I going to my local church and say, "I have a gift.
I have a talent. Put me to work. I want to work for God's kingdom." Want to challenge you today to to be investing your time and your talents in kingdom ministry for the lost of southern Oregon. That is how we store up for ourselves treasures in heaven. Our crown of boasting in heaven will not be because we read the Bible through every year or the testimonies every year.
Our crown of boasting will be those we've led to Jesus Christ. So if Jesus never looked upon the crowd anything other than compassion, so must we. And if Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost, then so do we. And if Jesus did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many then so do we as well. That our mo our mo our purpose our motivation is not our own glory.
It is not our own a grandandisement. It is not our own advancement in the church. Our goal our purpose is to see somebody saved for Jesus Christ. >> That is what this passage means about laying up treasures in heaven. The Apostle Paul goes on to say in in Colossians 2:3, he says, "I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so they may have all the riches of assured understanding, have the knowledge of God's mystery, so that in Christ himself, in whom I hidden all the treasures, the word thesora is there, of wisdom and knowledge." And so Paul desires in this passage to lift the minds of the Colossian Christians in Greece beyond merely human ideas and speculation to who Jesus really is and the eternal truths of the mystery of the plan of our salvation in Christ.
According to Paul in this letter, we can discover that all of God's purposes what they are and we understand that Christ came to bless humanity. Why then says the apostle Paul to a church in Colasse which is worried about different angelologies? If you read the book of Colossians that the the Jews at the time, they had various speculations about intercessors and Raphael and Gabriel and Michael and and so and so forth. They believe there were angels or intercessors between man and God. And so the Apostle Paul is saying, "I need you to lift your eyes above these human speculations and these human theories and focus on the person and the beauty and the ministry of Jesus Christ because that's where the treasure is." I want to encourage you today to focus on the main thing in your Christian life.
>> I mean, there are people out there who are pushing that the world is flat and square. You know, I know I got family members who hold that idea. Um I got family not family members but I've worked in churches who believe that we should keep the lunar solar Sabbaths so that whenever the new moon appears each month you count seven days for the first Sabbath and then seven days for the second Sabbath another seven days for the third then the the the the 28th day then wait for the next new moon to appear which could be literally 10 days later. So your Sabbaths are moving through the week. There are people who who do argue for that.
And then there are people who arguing for that that we must keep the feasts in order to be saved. Then we have other people who are arguing on definitions of the trinity. Now I don't want to open that can of worms here today except Steven Haskell, one of our pioneers said he said the doctrine of the trinity is right is is correct. Then he said if correctly understood and that's that's the kicker in that sentence there. I think probably the word trinity is unhelpful in our fundamental belief.
We better choose the word godhead because the word trinity is a loaded word for so many people. But the point about this is that it's easy to get distracted by these theological red herrings and rabbits and we need to remember that we have one faith and one hope and one baptism and one Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and one father above all and one spirit that guides us all. And so the apostle Paul is challenging in this here that in Christ himself are all the treasures the thesauri of wisdom and knowledge that is get to know Jesus for yourself because as you come to know Jesus you come to find those hidden treasures. Jesus spoke about the kingdom of heaven is like a man who who discovers there's a pearl in a field. So he goes and he sells all he owns.
Then he buys the land so he can get the pearl. Yes. And in that parable, the pearl, the kingdom is the pearl. But then he tells another parable. He says the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of a pine of a fine pearl.
Different parable. And in that parable, Jesus is saying that when you go searching for the kingdom of God, that itself is the kingdom of God experience. Why is that true? Because if you're searching for something, that means you're moving you're moving away from everything that was in your life before. You're moving forward.
You're looking here. You're looking there. Your focus is on something outside of you. Your focus is on something that's ahead of you. And and you don't go down there and you don't go down there because that doesn't apply to you.
Your focus is on finding something great value. So there's the kingdom of God is both static. It's the pearl in the field and it's dynamic. It's the process of searching for Jesus. So as we have our daily devotions, I'd encourage you all have your daily devotions.
Have your quiet time with the Lord. However God speaks to you in music, in poetry, in scripture, in nature, devote that time to the Lord every day. It's in the process of searching for Jesus that is in itself um um an uh you're living the kingdom of God and you're moving away from this world and the gods of this world and you're moving closer to the savior in the process of searching. It's a dynamic process. And as we come closer to Jesus, we find in Jesus um all the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge that Christ himself is the treasure house of wisdom, knowledge.
As we come to know Christ for ourselves, we come to know some of the mysteries of God. And so Jesus spoke about this in Matthew 13. He said, he said to them, therefore, every scribe who's been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure, there's the same word there, what is new and what is old. And so in this this passage here, Jesus teaches us that his teachings are the treasure that is brought out by his disciples from time to time. So how do you bring it out?
Well, you store it up in your head. You store up the teachings of Jesus in your mind so that when you need them, they come out. So we store up treasures in heaven by studying, memorizing, then basing our lives, our decisions, and our relationships on the teachings of Jesus himself. And this is important because Jesus says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Where your thesaurus is, there your treasure will be also." Why is that true?
Well, when we bless others, we open ourselves to God's blessings. Sister Dwight talks about this thought amount of blessings. She says, "He who gives money or time for spreading the gospel enlists his own interest and prayers for the work and for the souls to be reached through it. His affections go out to others and he is stimulated to greater devotion to God that he may be enabled to do them the greatest good." So, let me put it this way. If you decide rat and as a hypothetical example, if you decide to give a $100 every quarter to the local dogs home, the dogs home.
You have dogs homes here? >> Yeah. Shelter. Yeah. The humane place where we kill the animals.
Yes. >> Okay. If if you decide to give a $100 a quarter to the local humane society, don't you then start to take more than the passing interest in the humane society? You want to read the reports. You want to see how things are going.
The very fact that you give money means that your heart starts to go there as well. You become interested in it. You start to follow what's in the news. If they want to do an extension, you're following the extension and the approvals process. And if they're going to close down, you get emotionally very upset about it.
Yes. >> So when you give your money to something, your heart follows. It's not that your heart goes somewhere and then you give money. It's that when you give money, your heart tends to follow. And when we give money to win souls for Christ, let's say a young person comes to your church and says, I want to be a student missionary in Kenya for a year.
Could you please help? I'll be working among the Massai. Let's say you give a $50 donation to that young person. For the next year, you're going to be interested in the MSAI of East Africa and you're going to be wondering about what happened to that young person who went out there. Was there any fruit for their work?
And if somebody says to you, um, we want to give out the great controversy in the southern Oregon valleys here. You say, yeah, I could put 500 into that. And you give them the 500. Then, uh, you're not just going to give the 500. you're going to eagerly wait for news of what happened to that those great controversies, how they went out, who they who received them, and what kind of results did it give.
So the very act of giving of your time or giving of your money to something means that your heart starts to follow there. And so when we give our finances or our time to support gospel work, we are laying up treasures in heaven above. Because where your treasure is, your heart is going to follow. And so the the treasure in heaven above is the joy of meeting the souls who are there because of our sacrifices today. When you give for the salvation of others, you start to become concerned about the eternal consequences of they of your giving.
You start to pray for that people group or that district in Grants Pass. You become concerned for their well-being, both temporal and spiritual. You wrestle with God in prayer over the spiritual battles that are taking place. As when God was gone when God's kingdom advances, Satan's kingdom always pushes back. You put your treasure into gospel work and your heart will naturally follow.
And if you say, "I don't have a heart for gospel work." Put your money there and pretty soon your heart will be there as well. So Jesus doesn't say for where your heart is, there your treasure will be also. He says, "Where you put your treasure, your heart's going to follow." You start giving for local ministry, you're going to be concerned about local ministry. You start giving for foreign missions, all of a sudden you're going to want to know about what's happening in foreign missions. So, wherever you put your money, as Jesus said, your heart is going to follow.
So, our time is up here. We need to come to our conclusions here. And Jesus says this in a world of economic resets and digital resets and digital IDs and CBDC's and stable coins and currency debasements and all the rest of it and the the the economic giants of this world are scrambling to hold on to their wealth in this world. Okay? They're scrambling to get as much wealth as they can before the system gets reset.
We don't need to worry about those things because Jesus says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." Currencies rise and currencies fall. Money inflates, it's debased, it disappears, or it's stolen. We have no control over these matters. But we can choose today where the treasure of our heart resides. So seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness and trust that God will take care of your material needs.
Lay up for yourself treasures in heaven above. Store up for yourself an imperishable inheritance. Uh I think I put the things up here. Store the word of God's the word of God in your hearts. Live the teachings of Jesus Christ in your daily lives.
Honor your bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit. live lives of sexual and moral purity as we were bought with an incomparable price. And let us invest our time, our talents, and our money in evangelism to the lost and sacrificial service to the hurting. And those who could never repay us in this world, one day we'll meet them in heaven above. So seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
These are some of the practical things we see in the New Testament or how we put that into practice. And God is going to take care of us materially in this world. We're not to run around like the Gentiles, our hearts overwhelmed with fear for what is coming upon the world. We're not to be worried about the movements of the stock market and so forth, even though it's all around us. Let us focus on winning souls for Christ.
And trust God, he's going to take care of us today. Share in the joys of the plan of salvation. Love others as yourself. And when Jesus comes again, you're going to get to meet people in that sea of glass who are going to come up to you and say, "I'm here today." And I have the gift of eternal life because you made a sacrifice somewhere down on planet Earth. What a joy that's going to be.
Yes. What a joy that's going to be. Our time is up now. There isn't a clock in this building. That's That's really bad for a preacher because I have no idea what the time is right now.
But I >> Almost 3:30. >> It's 3:30 already. All right. So, we've been going on for a long enough time here. Okay.
So I think the I think the sermon is pretty clear. Yes. >> Uh so if the Holy Spirit has moved upon your hearts in these last this last all through today and the Holy Spirit has whispered to you and says, "Brother or sister, there's a change you could make. There's a new direction you may want to step out in. Don't quench the voice of the Holy Spirit today.
But a covenant with God beside your bed tonight that Lord, as you convicted me today, I'm going to walk in that light from this day forward. I don't understand it. I don't have know the end from the beginning, but you do. I'm just going to walk by faith. And if Lord, if I can store up treasures in heaven and ease human suffering today, then thank you in advance for the blessing of following you.
So may God bless us as we shine for him here in Southern Oregon. Amen.
